Today our ecosystem is doing pretty good. Our CO2 went down and our Oxygen is slowly going up. That's good because it means that our plants are going through photosynthesis. That means that more oxygen for the bugs and such.
We have some little black beetle bugs in our ecosystem, meaning that they are reproducing in there, which is really good. Our fern still looks like it it dying a little, but our beans are growing, as is our duckweed. We have some duckweed growing on the sides of the tub and I believe that there is some growing on the lid. It's pretty interesting. What is also interesting is watching where our frog shows up each day. He's constantly in a new spot, it's rare for him to be in one spot twice. It's pretty fun.
So I figure that from time to time I should write about my hydroponics project. Yesterday I put new water in it, which was really fun because instead of taking the tomatoes out and taking the whole chamber to a sink and dumping the water then washing it out, I got to use a shop vac and vacuum out the water. And it was amazing because the shop-vac I used wasn't a shop-vac you find in the garage or something, it was a humongous one. So I had fun with that. Then after I finished with that me and Mr. Herndon put some chicken wire up around three of the four sides of the chamber, giving my tomatoes something to grow up on. I already have two being held up by yardsticks, they're so tall. I'm hoping that they start sprouting tomatoes sometime soon.
